The dryer part of my stack unit was overheating and I called Geek Squad for service. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and helpful. In the course of reporting my problem, I told her the washer/dryer unit was tucked in a corner of a laundry area and would be awkward to get at. She said she was making a note of that on the service request.

The morning of the scheduled service, the technician called to confirm the time. He was having trouble with his phone and kept repeating his questions and raising his voice. I felt he was very rude and abrupt. He asked if I'd looked behind the dryer to see if the vent hose was connected and I told him I couldn't move the unit because it was tucked in this corner. He THEN told me that Geek Squad can't pull units out from the wall, that I have to have it pulled out before they get there for service! I've never heard of such a thing. How am I supposed to pull a washer/dryer unit out from the wall?? What repairman doesn't pull the stove, frig or washer away from the wall to service it?

So now I've wasted four days -- without the use of my dryer -- and still don't have a service scheduled, and will have to start all over finding a repairman.

I'll NEVER use Geek Squad again and will certainly tell all my friends about this "non-service",

UPDATE. Geek Squad sent a repairman out after all and he was able to access the dryer via a panel in the front, and fixed the problem (vent hose had come loose). So, the problem was solved without having to move the washer/dryer unit.
